Chemical industry
Within the Chemical Industry, ME-Metals & Technologies has a double range;
- equipment manufacturing; supplying different types of devices in different materials, in collaboration with Alteco;
- Tantaline®; a surface treatment that gives stainless steel products the corrosion resistance of tantalum.
You can read more about both markets below.
Equipment Manufacturing
ME-Metals & Technologies BV offers equipment for the Chemical Process Industry (CPI), the petrochemical industry and the pharmaceutical industry. These devices and associated parts can be supplied in different materials and according to different specifications.
Examples of these products are reactors & pressure vessels, columns & tanks, heat exchangers, insertion pipes, piping, circuit breakers, welding components & coils for cooling and heating.
For the production, ME-Metals & Technologies BV works together with the Belgian company Alteco NV. Alteco, based in Rotselaar – Belgium, has more than 40 years of experience in the field of equipment construction. Alteco’s qualified employees form the basis for a high-quality, reliable custom-made product. ME-Metals & Technologies guides your requests and projects together with the Alteco employees.
More information about, among other things, Construction / Production Codes and the different materials in which devices can be offered, can be found on our Equipment Construction page.

Tantaline®
Tantaline® is a special surface treatment that gives stainless steel parts the corrosion-resistant properties of Tantalum. Special exotic metals such as Nickel alloys, Titanium, Zirconium, Niobium and even Tantalum can be replaced by Tantaline®. The big advantage: cost savings.
The Tantaline® treatment is a surface treatment, not a coating. It is a diffusion bonded protective layer of tantalum formed by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on the surface of the product to be treated. The treated surface has the properties of pure Tantalum and is inseparable from the base material because of a built-up diffusion zone.
The basic materials that can best be used for the Tantalin treatment are stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 316L. The use of these materials has been extensively tested and approved.
