Metal Plating

Metal Plating is a general name for processes that produce a metal coating on a solid substrate. This includes galvanizing, chrome plating and tin plating, but also copper plating, nickel plating, and even silver plating and gold plating.

The anode can be a soluble anode, such as Zinc, Tin, Nickel or Chromium, but can also be an inert, insoluble anode, for example a coated titanium anode. The part to be coated acts as a cathode. Power is supplied by an external power supply/rectifier.

ME-Metals & Technologies BV supplies all these different types of anodes, as well as the anode baskets and the current conductors, in any desired type and size. If you have any questions or if we can give you advice or guidance, please contact us.

Electroplating is used in industrial industry and for decorative applications to improve the surface quality of objects. This includes improvements in corrosion and wear, roughness, reflectivity, electrical conductivity, but also the decorative chrome plating of products.

An entirely different application is the electroforming of products, to build up material thickness on undersized or worn parts, or even to produce metal sheets with a complex shape.
