Welding
Various welding processes are used at ME-Metals & Technologies. Each process has its own properties, which make the process suitable for the materials and/or applications used.
Below we describe the various welding processes that we use:
- MIG/MAG welding, for steel and stainless steel.
- TIG welding, for stainless steel, but also for precious metals such as Titanium, Nickel alloys, Zirconium, Niobium and Tantalum. As backing gas we use Argon with specification 99,999Ar.
- Spot welding, for joining thin metals (plate / expanded metal) to a thicker base plate, eg in the production of anode baskets.
- Stud welding, for steel and stainless steel, to attach studs for simplified assembly.
- Electric resistance welding, a special self-developed technique for roll seam welding of foil. Used for welding Pr foil on a Titanium base plate.
Titanium laser welding. This technique is currently under investigation.
