Copper Foil Manufacturing
Copper foils are produced either by rolling or by electrodeposition (ED). For electrodeposition, high-quality copper must be dissolved in an acid to produce a copper electrolyte. This electrolyte is deposited on rotating drums that are electrically charged, causing a thin layer of copper to be deposited on the drums.
The electrical loop is closed again by placing anodes on either side of the drum. During the process, the copper foil grows on the drum.
The main application of the copper foils is in batteries for telephones, among other things. Due to the requirements of decreasing film thicknesses, the specifications in this market are demanding.
MEMOX MMO anodes are used for the manufacturing of copper foil.
