With cathodic protection (KB), the object is protected against corrosion by means of potential reduction. By lowering the potential, the anode reaction is slowed down so much that it is practically negligible. The object to be protected thereby becomes a cathode.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well-known examples of products and objects that are protected in this way are pipelines and concrete construction bridges. But KB anodes are also used in offshore constructions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seagoing vessels, on the other hand, are often provided with sacrificial anodes, usually zinc blocks \/ discs.<\/span><\/p>\n
